| These salamanders like to eat worms, slugs, snails, spiders, millipedes, crickets, beetles, ants, and other invertebrates and enjoy a temperature range of 55-65 degrees F. They can tolerate temperatures up to 80 degrees F. In the summer, move them to a cool spot. The bite of these creatures are not poisonous but theyre skin is, so its best not to handle them at all unless you have on equipment that you are certain will protect you. If you do come in contact with its skin be sure to thoroughly wash your hands afterward and avoid rubbing your eyes or touching your mouth to prevent irritation.
